Chapman Consulting attend the Global Soft Power Summit 2023

Breaking News : 2nd March 2023 – Sarah Chapman, Founder and Managing Director of Chapman Consulting attends 2023 Global Soft Power Summit in Westminster, as a guest of CEO of Brand Finance, David Haigh.

For nearly 20 years, Brand Finance has monitored the strength and value of nation brands, and since 2020, has published the Global Soft Power Index, the largest study in the world on perceptions of nations. The study includes the opinions of 100,000+ respondents in 100+ markets on 121 out of 193 countries in the UN.  

Hosted in partnership with BBC Studios, the Summit focused on the roles of sustainability, media, and sports in developing soft power. They also explored how soft power can impact the decisions of business leaders regarding investment and trade.

Robert Haigh Strategy & Sustainability Director of Brand Finance said of sustainability, “Some of the countries that perform the best in soft power overall, perform very strongly in terms of sustainability too, so we see countries like Switzerland, Germany UK, the US and Japan doing particularly well, and outside of the usual suspects, we also see strong performances from the likes of Singapore and the UAE, particularly on sustainable cities and transport, which is an overall very important driver on soft power.” 

 

Other speakers included: Former Prime Minister of the UK, The Rt Hon Boris Johnson as the keynote speaker, Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Olena Zelenska, The First Lady of Ukraine.
