The Challenge
Cervidae approached Chapman Consulting seeking a full brand refresh to better reflect the credibility, gravitas, and strategic depth of their business. Their existing identity was outdated and lacked clarity, particularly the logo, which appeared grainy and disconnected across touchpoints. Additionally, the firm’s website was in need of redesign, improved messaging, and more cohesive presentation of their track record despite portfolio imagery that did not naturally communicate “design-led aesthetics.”
The project included:
- Brand identity refresh
- Website redesign and rebuild
- Updated team photography solutions
- Print & digital collateral suite
- Presentation design system
- LinkedIn marketing assets
- 8-page investment brochure
Our Approach
1. Brand Identity Refresh
We modernised the identity while retaining Cervidae’s symbolic heritage. The stag emblem, central to the brand’s meaning, was refined into a sharp, minimal icon.
The icon was strategically integrated alongside the logotype, replacing the “V” within Cervidae in one variation to create an elegant signature mark.
The final visual language conveys:
- Professionalism & clarity
- Understated sophistication
- Confidence and strategic intelligence
A full set of brand guidelines was delivered, covering typography, colour palette, spacing, icon usage, photography style, and LinkedIn profile presentation.
2. Website Redesign
We designed and developed a new WordPress website that conveyed trust and expertise through clear narrative structure, restrained visual design, and simple navigation.
Briefing Document
Given that many projects in Cervidae’s portfolio involve pre-refurbishment assets, we adopted a case-study storytelling approach highlighting:
Investment strategy
Value creation approach
Financial performance outcomes
rather than relying solely on visual imagery.
The website also integrated LinkedIn connectivity and CTA pathways to prompt relationship engagement
3. Photography
To address variability in asset presentation, we developed a blended visual strategy:
Professional headshots (with option to use AI retouching methods provided in cost comparisons)
Selective project photography enhanced with tonal correction and framing
Use of architectural detail crops and data-focus overlays to position images as part of an investment narrative rather than aesthetic showcase.

4. Brochure Design (Printed & Digital)
We produced an 6-page brochure structured around:
Cervidae’s history and values
Investment approach and due diligence methodology
Sectors of focus
Case studies with result-focused summaries
Team leadership and governance standards
The printed version (200 copies) featured uncoated heavyweight stock for tactility and understated luxury.
5. Business Stationery Suite
The refreshed visual identity was applied across:
Business cards
Letterheads
Email signatures
Document covers
All assets included print-ready and digital-ready versions.
6. Presentation Design System
We developed a modular PowerPoint master with six slide templates including:
Cover slide
Agenda/section break
Case study layout
Two text-image content formats
Data/financial table slide
This ensured internal teams could produce on-brand presentations independently.

Outcome
The refreshed Cervidae brand now reflects the firm’s strategic intelligence, longevity, and investment expertise, while the website and collateral suite present a clearer narrative of value creation, track record, and trust-based partnership.
The brand launch enhanced:
Perceived credibility during investor meetings
Consistency across digital and physical touchpoints
Confidence in new business and partner outreach
